Taxi is one of the most problematic services provided in Prague. There are almost 6,000 taxi drivers. Most of them are honest, but unfortunately you can also come across the dishonest ones. Therefore, you should be very vigilant, especially at night and in the early morning hours.

Advice to customers:
  • take only properly labeled taxi cars
  • preferably order a taxi via dispatching phone where you can check the price for the ride right when ordering
  • preferably get in a taxi in the street at a taxi rank with a FAIR PLACE sign (221 102 222, 221 101 224) before entering the car ask the driver for the fare
  • before getting out of a taxi have a receipt confirming that you have paid the fare printed from the taximeter printer
